Case: Never Odd or Even
In his first solo show ‘Never Odd or Even’ at London’s Signal Gallery, Andreas Von Chrzanowski aka Case, takes inspiration from the fantastical world of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Through The Looking Glass’. The imaginative landscape of the beloved book, where nothing is quite what it seems, suits Case’s style to a T and appears to have inspired him to let go with his imagery, and find a new sweetness that hasn’t shown in his work before. Using characters and scenarios from the story he is able to anchor his paintings to a familiar illogical thread. The show has a very complete feel to it, with none of the works seeming out of place or of a lower standard.
